Update: I’ve read that ‘pre-registering’ with P&O for a cruise on Britannia will require a deposit to be paid. So it’s actually a very early booking.
P&O have released details of the first year’s cruises on Britannia, their new ship. The programme starts on 14 March 2015 with a 14-night cruise from Southampton to the western Mediterranean. After that there’s the usual mix of 14 and 7 night cruises to the Mediterranean, Baltic, Fjords, Canaries, Atlantic coast, etc. I couldn’t see anything longer than 14 nights so that means no eastern or central Mediterranean cruises – understandable given that she can’t get into Venice in 2015. There are a couple of two-night cruises (in July and September) and a 12-night ‘Round Britain’ cruise, in July. In October she departs for the Caribbean and will do the usual 14 night cruises there until a return to Southampton in March 2016.
Prices seem to be pretty reasonable at the moment – a ‘Superior Deluxe Balcony Cabin’ for a 14-night W med cruise in June will cost from between £2249 to £2429.
Here’s a link to the list of Britannia cruises. There’s also link to some deck plans, but they’re not complete – they only show the accommodation decks. So the questions about pools, etc, remain unresolved. But I can’t see any stairs midships, just lifts.
